Our location: Essaouira

The town of Essaouira lies approx. 180 km away from the Marrakech airport and Agadir. Adored by Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix, the hippy flair is even morepopular than ever, nowadays as an artist‘s meeting place. One can see everywhere, and also purchase, contemporary paintings or hear music from the numerous local groups and musicians.

Essaouira, with its picturesque corners and ruins from a former Portuguese fortress, is today a place with a peaceful atmosphere and friendly inhibitants. It is a pleasure to find a seat at the cafes to drink a delicious mint tea, particularly after discovering the extensive routes of the Souks in the old part of the town, or the Medina, which are a true paradise of colours and impressions.
The long sandy beaches invite you to extensive walks and, who likes to can swim in the brisant waves of the Atlantic.

The four star Hotel Ryad de Mogador

is somewhat on the outskirts from Essaouira, only 300 m from the beach and at the edge of a pine wood. By foot, one can reach the town in 20 minutes, or if prefered by taxi in max. 5 minutes.
The hotel is once again delightfully following the traditional Riyad style with its inner court rooms, swimming pool and garden in the center, the lobby and restaurant are enriched with ornamental tiles and traditional carpenter work.

There is an Aquacenter on the beach, owned by a french company. They offer hired surf equipment as well as the possibility to Fly Surf etc.
In the hotel, like in many places in Morocco, no alcohol will be served. However, one can consume alcohol in the hotel rooms and on the balcony. The areas have satelite TV, telephone, bath, safe (with fee). The hotel offers a fitness center, all-weather tennis court, hamam, sauna, hairdressers, massage parlour and cosmetic salon.

with breakfast and an evening buffett - in particular Couscous and the different Tajines, specialities from the tone pot, are also included. With evening programmmes outdoors dinner will be taking place outdoors, too.

Excursions

We will be offering trips leading into the surrounding countryside and villages, to the remaining unaffected beaches or into the vast Sidi Kaouki with a fish meal in a traditional environment. Depending upon the weather, a boat trip is planned to the pre-aged islands. There is also the possibility to make a daytrip to Marrakech. Note: Strenuous!
